Human Resources Advisor

Position Overview: Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the HR Advisor supports internal and external recruitment, including job postings, background checks, and interview coordination. The role manages onboarding and probation processes, facilitates new employee integration, documents learning plans, updates tracking tools, and organizes compliance training. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with HR policies, labor relations, health & safety standards, handling benefits and payroll administration, updating HR policies, supporting employee development, coordinating service awards, maintaining HR documents, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

What You’ll Do:
•    Supports recruitment, from ads to interviews.
•    Oversee onboarding and probation processes.
•    Document learning plans and update tracking tools.
•    Ensure compliance with HR policies and standards.
•    Handle benefits and payroll administration.
•    Coordinate employee service awards and maintain HR documents.
•    Provides labour relations support.
•    Contribute to continuous improvement and professional development efforts.

What You Bring:
•    2+ years of HR experience in a unionized environment or equivalent education/experience.
•    Working towards or holding a CPHR designation.
•    Knowledge of HR principles and practices.
•    Knowledge and experience in Labour Relations.
•    Strong communication and presentation skills.
•    Excellent organizational skills and confidentiality.
•    Team player with a knack for creative problem-solving.
•    Adaptability to changing environments and deadlines.
•    Ability to build relationships and maintain professionalism.

Annual Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000
